Friday, July 23rd

(Foundation for other classes, strongly recommended for all who never had a class with Daniela and Grisha)

6:30pm – 8:00pm Women and men techniques: A-B-C Class-Yoga-Tango exercises (all levels)
– Posture, attitude; disassociation vs. association; pivots; understanding mechanism and impulses
– Exercises to take home to practice and improve your technique
– Combinations with paradas, pasadas, ochos, turns, pivots, and molinete

8:15pm – 9:30pm Tango, beyond simple turns (all levels)
– Create and explore possibilities from turns and molinetes into sacadas, colgadas, paradas, boleos, pasadas, and ganchos

9:30pm-?12:00pm Practilonga, free for workshop participants, $5 for others

Saturday July 24th:

12:00noon – 1:30pm Milonga con traspie in counter rhythm (all levels)
– Musicality, leading & following, technique, and milonga adornments

1:30pm – 3:00pm Musicality & adornments, Tango counter rhythm (advanced)
Creative combinations of adorments with turns/ molinetes, barridas, colgadas and volcadas

3:00pm- 4:00pm Supervised practica
Daniela and Grisha are available for help and guide in this Practica, don’t miss this chance.

4:00pm – 7:30pm Break

8:00pm -9 :00pm Pre-milonga class: Vals cruzado (all levels)
– Cadence in vals. Walk, turn, and play with the 1-2-3
– Walking at ritmo de vals
– Turning and playing with the 1-2-3

9:00pm – 12:30am Milonga
with special performance by Daniela and Grisha at 11:00pm

Mimi has been teaching Tango in the Villa Urquiza style for over 40 years in Buenos Aires and has taught most of the great dancers at one time or another.

She has been coming to Gainesville each of the last three years to share her great love of Tango with people who want a deeper understanding of technique and elegance.

There will be many drills that progressively build your technique combined with interesting step combinations that will result in your dancing more comfortably, more elegantly, with less effort and more enjoyment for you and your Tango partners.

to arrange a private lesson NOW while she is in the Tallahassee/Gainesville area through Tuesday June 29th.
